The competition that a whole continent is waiting for two
years now is preparing to regain its rights. The 2017 CAN opens this afternoon at 5pm in a first game between the
host country, Gabon and Guinea-Bissau.
The stadium of Libreville,
the capital, and its public will undoubtedly be overcrowded to see its people
start in the best ways this competition. This is the start of the 31st
African Cup of Nations, an essential
continental event, and Gabon, host country, has the honor of launching the
festivities.
For his entry, he will have to be on guard against
Guinea-Bissau (17 hours) and disregard the pressure that could weigh on his
shoulders. It's never easy to go home. This is reflected in the last two
opening matches during whom
Equatorial Guinea (1-1 against Congo in 2015) and South Africa (0-0 against
Cape Verde in 2013) could not win their audience.
